The Mission of the Hellenic Healthcare society
To unite all health care professionals of Hellenic heritage in an effort to foster collaboration, communication, and community across all medical specialties and support medical and cultural values to the highest possible degree.
Serve as a forum for Networking and Fellowship among health care professionals within the Hellenic community as well as informing the community at large of Hellenic health care professionals.
Scholarship and mentoring support for students of Hellenic descent who are pursuing careers in health care fields.
Support Philanthropic missions both locally and internationally.

Demetrios Marousos
FOUNDER
Meet Demetri "Meetch" Maroutsos, a dedicated physician and proud alumnus of the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria, IL. His journey began in Glenview, where he attended Glenbrook South High School before achieving cum laude honors at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Demetri's family heritage is deeply rooted in Greece. His mother immigrated from Kalamata, and his father, a Chicago native, traces his roots back to the quaint village of Axladokambos. Beyond medicine, Demetri harbors a profound passion for music. He has been playing the cello for most of his life and indulges in a diverse range of musical genres, from classical and rock to Greek and pop, making music an integral part of his daily life.
With a natural affinity for connecting with others, Demetri is excited to be a part of this group and looks forward to witnessing the potential and growth it can achieve together!

The Hellenic Healthcare Society (HHS) is a way for healthcare workers to connect with others and share in our common heritage. The goal of the Hellenic Healthcare Society is to build a network of healthcare individuals in hopes to work together towards promoting a healthier society, supporting our culture and giving back to our communities. At HHS, we welcome all individuals from any and every background meaning you don’t have to be of Greek descent in order to join!
